Note that SLPs with their national Certificate of Clinical
Competence can utilize their CCCs as the basis to acquire the CA SLP
license. Additionally CA now issues a "temporary license" for those
completing their national CFY - Clinical Fellowship Year (referred
to under CA licensing as Required Professional Experience - RPE).
HEARING AID DISPENSING: HADEC
Audiologists under the audiology license may evaluate and fit a hearing
aid. If an audiologist also sells the hearing aid, the audiologists will be
required to obtain a hearing aid dispenser's license.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
(Mandatory Continuing Education)
Both the national and
state professional associations require members to maintain currency and
competency in their members' professional practice. State licensing requires
mandatory continuing education every two years. School personnel credentialed
after 1995, must satisfy mandatory professional development to renew their
credentials every five years. Hearing Aid Dispensers' licensing also has
mandatory continuing education requirements. Attendance at the annual CSHA State
Conference can satisfy these obligations.
